Pharma Booth Design Ideas That Stay Compliant and Still Get Noticed

October 21, 2026

Every November, pharma teams sit down to plan convention booths and hit the same wall: no raffles, no product talk aimed at the general public, and a review process that eats weeks. We think that wall is a gift. Good pharma booth design under the rules leans on education, and education is what doctors actually stop for. The most compliant booth on the floor can also be the busiest one.

Quick answer: Keep product content directed only to healthcare professionals, label the booth clearly as yours, follow the organizer's rules and skip raffles. Then build the booth around learning: approved education loops on an LED Poster, a kiosk with reviewed content, short expert talks and a quick badge scan for HCP visits.

What do pharma marketing rules say about exhibit booths?

Here's the plain-language version, based on the publicly available text of the pharma industry's code of practice. A newer edition is now listed, so check the current text with your compliance team before you lock anything in.

  • HCPs only. Booths for prescription medicines and medical devices must be directed only to healthcare professionals.
  • Say who you are. The display must clearly identify the exhibitor.
  • Organizer rules apply. Your booth has to follow the convention's own exhibitor requirements, on top of the code.
  • No raffles. Raffle activities aren't allowed at booths.
  • Education is allowed. Educational activities may be conducted in booths.

The government sets its own guardrails too. DOH Administrative Order 2015-0053 lays out the guidelines on promoting and marketing prescription products and medical devices, and FDA Advisory 2022-2045 restated the FDA's stand against unethical promotion practices.

One important line: this post isn't legal advice. We build and run booth tech. Every content idea below should go through your company's medical and compliance review before it goes on a screen.

Pharma booth design: do, don't, and what to try instead

Pharma booth design chart: try education loops, reviewed kiosks and talks; drop raffles and product claims on public aisles

Don't: the habits that get booths flagged

  • Raffles and spin-the-wheel prizes. They're off the table. Don't try to rename one into something else.
  • Product promotion anyone can see. If your booth sits on a busy aisle where companions, students or other visitors walk past, product claims on a big screen facing the aisle are a problem.
  • Unlabelled displays. A sleek screen with no clear exhibitor name looks modern, but it misses a basic requirement.
  • Last-minute content. A video edited the night before has almost certainly skipped review.

Instead, try: education that pulls people in

An education loop on an LED Poster. Run approved disease-awareness content, a short mechanism-of-action animation or a "what's new in guidelines" summary. Motion catches the eye from down the aisle, and a loop means the booth is teaching even when your reps are busy. If you've used our LED Poster sponsor display ideas before, the same placement logic applies: face the traffic, keep each slide readable in a few seconds. Route every slide through your medical and compliance review.

An interactive kiosk with reviewed content. An Interactive Touchscreen Kiosk lets a doctor tap through case-style questions, dosing references or patient education material at their own pace. Quiz-style learning works well here, with no prizes beyond what the code allows. Our LED and display setups can pair a kiosk with a poster so the booth has one "look" and one "touch" point. Same rule: content goes through your medical and compliance review first.

Short expert talks at the booth. A short talk with a specialist (inside the organizer's rules on booth sessions) gives HCPs a reason to come back at a set time. Put the schedule on the screen so people can plan around sessions.

A clean scan-in for HCP visits. A quick badge or QR scan at the entry point helps your team confirm visitors are healthcare professionals before product content is shared. It also gives you a tidy visit log for follow-up, handled in line with the Data Privacy Act and your consent wording.

Medical convention booth ideas that need no giveaways

People assume the giveaway is what fills a booth, but good pharma booth design doesn't need one. In our experience on the floor, what fills a booth is a reason to stay for two minutes. A few that work in a medical convention booth:

  • "Guideline in a minute" loops. One topic, big type, a clear takeaway.
  • Self-paced case questions on the kiosk. Doctors like testing themselves when nobody's watching.
  • A timed talk board. A Vision 32" screen showing the time of the next talk turns passersby into a small audience.
  • A quiet corner. A couple of stools and a screen with reviewed reference content, away from aisle noise.

None of these depend on what you hand out. All of them depend on content that's ready, approved and loaded early, plus a crew that keeps the screens running all day.

Practical: content approval, file specs and setup

This is the part that decides whether your booth opens on time.

Step What to do Who owns it
Content plan List every screen and what plays on it Brand team
Medical and compliance review Submit final files, not drafts Brand team with medical and compliance
File specs Confirm resolution and orientation for each unit (LED Posters are portrait) Our creatives and tech crew
Organizer check Confirm booth rules, power and ingress window Brand team with the organizer
Load and test Load approved files and test every loop at ingress Our tech crew
Event day Technician on call for content swaps and fixes Our tech crew

Start the review early. Approval timelines vary by company, so ask your compliance team how long they need and work backwards from there. If you're also running the wider program, our planning timeline for medical conventions covers where booth content fits in the bigger schedule.

On rates, here's what the core booth units cost to rent:

  • LED Poster: ₱10,000 per unit per day, VAT inclusive
  • Vision 32" Digital Display: ₱8,000 per unit per day, VAT inclusive
  • Interactive Touchscreen Kiosk: ₱10,000 per unit per day, VAT inclusive

Factor in Metro Manila traffic for ingress. A booth crew stuck on the road during a tight load-in window is a stress you don't need.

FAQ

Are raffles allowed at pharma booths?
No. The pharma industry's code of practice doesn't allow raffle activities at exhibit booths. If you want interaction, use education instead: quiz-style learning on a kiosk, short talks or case questions. Check with your compliance team on what tokens, if any, are acceptable under the current edition and DOH rules.

Can non-doctors visit a pharma booth?
Booths for prescription medicines and medical devices must be directed only to healthcare professionals. In practice, that means checking badges or scanning visitors in, and keeping product content off screens that face a public aisle. Your compliance team and the convention organizer will set the details for your event.

What content can play on booth screens?
Only content your company's medical and compliance review has approved. That often includes disease-awareness material, mechanism-of-action animations, guideline summaries and the booth talk schedule. Clearly identify your company on every screen and submit final files, not drafts, so what plays on the day is exactly what was approved.

How early should we book booth tech?
As early as your content timeline allows. Book the units once your booth plan is set, then give review plenty of room. We'll confirm availability and setup timing on a call.

Planning a booth for the November conventions?

We've run event tech for 15+ years, and we know how a booth looks at 7 AM before the first session. Bring your floor plan and your content list, and we'll suggest a screen setup that fits the rules and the space. Plan a compliant booth with us.
